December has started and now it’s not long until “holly, jolly Christmas – the best time of the year”. To really get the Christmas feeling, I did some Christmas baking with my little brother (8y). He loved it and wanted to try everything out himself – rolling out the dough, putting the cookies in the oven – but most of all, he wanted to have some raw cookie dough bites 🙂

Take your little ones and start the Christmas bakery.

Simple Christmas Cookies Ingredients

500g (4 cups) flour

200g (1 cup) sugar

4 egg yolks

icing sugar

320g (1 1/2 cups) butter

2 spoons of vanilla sugar

chocolate powder or cinnamon

lemon juice

Simple Christmas Recipe For The Cookies And The Icing

Mix 500g (4 cups) flour, 200g (1 cup) sugar, 4 egg yolks, 320g (1 1/2 cups) butter and 2 spoons of vanilla sugar for the cookie dough. Add chocolate powder or cinnamon if you like. Leave it in the fridge for half an hour. Then roll it out, cut out whichever form you like and bake at 190°C (375 F) until they are golden. It’s normal if they are still soft, they become crunchy when they have cooled down.

For the icing, I melted a bit of butter, added icing sugar and some lemon juice.

I was told it’s the best icing he ever tasted 😀

After the baking comes the decoration. And then the best part – the eating part !!
